Where are we headed?

Are the liberals and conservatives(read Democrats & Republicans) polarizing the US for a darker purpose? Why else would they attempt to drive this country into the ground, if not for personal reasons?

The way I see it, we are headed down a deep, dark path. Any student of history knows that democracy does not last. Judging by the apparent apathy of the American public, we are in the last stages of decline. But where exactly are we headed?

I foresee a time, in the not too distant future, a general breakdown of American society. This may or may not be helped by outside influences. After all, we have already weakened our military to the point where it wouldn't take much in the way of an invasion. Second, we are letting the liberal "don't offend anyone" politicos and the main stream media tell us who we should vote for. And if you think I am exaggerating that last point, look at the coverage of the upcoming Caucus in Iowa. After watching, I would be surprised if anyone knew there still was a Republican party.

I am not sure where we will go after the breakdown, but I would love your input on what you think!

Politics in America, Part Deux

Have Americans become so enamored of athletes and actors, that we are actually allowing them to choose our leaders for us? Everywhere I look these days, every politician has backing from either Hollywood, or some athlete telling me that I should choose this person.

What happened to each citizen having the responsibility to choose their representatives based on the issues, and how we think they will handle them? How is an athlete, or an actor, qualified to tell me who I should vote for? Because they make more money than I and my brother's and sister's do? I've got just one thing to say to these so-called celebrities who think it is their God-given right to tell me how I should vote:

I and my brothers and sisters in the Armed Forces endure separation from our loved ones, often for months, sometimes over a year, at a time, making barely enough money to keep our families fed and housed, in order for you to sit in front of a camera and look pretty. While getting paid outrageous amounts of money to do so!

I think that I am more than qualified to judge for myself who I should vote for. I don't need you to do it for me! I am more than tired of hearing from Oprah that Obama is the only person for the job, and it makes me sicker than I can even discuss whenever I hear some so-called Hollywood Celebrity bash our President!

Granted, he may not be the best President we have ever had, but he has done the job he was elected for! For everyone who thinks this war we are in is of Pres. Bush's making, just remember that Clinton possessed the information that could have stopped the 9/11 attacks!

Stay tuned for more ranting!

Politics in America

You know, after many years of watching America's political scene keep spiraling downward, I wonder, what kind of country am I handing off to my children? There are so many reasons why America is in rapid decline, that I cannot even list them all right now. My personal top five reasons, however, I will discuss over the next week, although not in any specific order.

First, let's take political correctness. Let's face it, by ensuring that we don't offend anyone, we are breeding neutered citizens. As a country, we put so much effort into ensuring that no one is offended, we hardly have time for anything else! What ever happened to personal responsibility? If you don't like something, don't do it! But, on the same token, don't take my right to do it away from me, or from anyone else that wants to continue the behavior!

Of course, I am speaking specifically on the use of the word God, prayer in school, etc. I understand that you may not believe as I do, and don't feel that you or your children should be subjected to what you think is nonsense. However, is it right to deny me or my children the right to pray in school?

Believe me, I fully support anyone's right not to be subjected to anything they do not like or want. I even make sure that I don't smoke near non-smokers. Why should their health suffer, just because of my bad habit?

That being said, just because I, or anyone else, believes in God, or prayer, then why take that right away from them?

Rest assured, there will be more to follow.
